Objective:
I'm a 7th grade student from Morton Junior High School wanting to help the Children's Hospital of Illinois that helped save my siblings lives. Giving them a great start in life!
Inspiration:
My inspiration is my three younger siblings Ella, Savannah, and Wyatt. All three of my siblings spent time in the Children's Hospital of Illinois Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Each of my siblings came into the world a little early and the Children's Hospital of Illinois NICU helped give them a great start in life. Thanks to the Children's Hospital of Illinois, my sisters and brother are thriving and doing well!! Read their stories below.

Ella Rose was born in September of 2009. When Ella was born, she was at eight and a half weeks early, but only weighed three pounds, eight ounces. The first time I saw Ella I was so excited to be a big brother and also scared as she was so tiny and covered in wires. Ella required minimal breathing support and quickly learned to eat well. She came home from the NICU after three weeks!! She came home on a monitor that helped us to know if she was having trouble breathing. Ella has continued to need the services of the Children's Hospital of Illinois as she sees the cardiologist in the Congenital Heart Center and she also had skull surgery at the age of seven months at the hospital. We have lots of reasons to be thankful for the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
Today Ella is a happy and thriving four year old. She loves to dance, sing, and of course play with me!

My sister Savannah was born in October of 2011. She was born at 25 weeks, making her 15 weeks early! She weighed just one pound, fourteen ounces. She was so tiny! She needed some help with her breathing and needed CPAP to help her. This is a mask, as seen in the picture, that helps push oxygen and air into her lungs to help her learn to breathe. Savannah stayed in the NICU for 59 days and came home weighing just over three pounds. She is a miracle and has done great!!
Now Savannah is two years old and loves watching Bubble Guppies and wrestling with her big brother!

Wyatt Andrew was born November 13, 2013. Wyatt came into the world over six weeks early and weighed four pounds, eight ounces. He came into the world screaming and became a NICU rock star right from the beginning. He stayed in the NICU for two weeks learning how to eat and gaining weight.
Wyatt is now over two months old and already weighs nine pounds!! Our family thinks he is great and I enjoy getting to hold and feed him.
